August 17 – 20 2017
Organized by BLM HFX Reading Group
Sankofest is a mini-festival centring on Black brilliance and the work of Black artists, writers, speakers, activists, and performers in Halifax. This festival’s name refers to the Akanian Twi phrase “Sankofa” which means “Go back and get it”. We are celebrating and uplifting the power of Black Lives in Halifax, so it never may be forgotten.
